The perfect bridal hair on your big day
Some advices of a perfect bridal mehendi for bride’s to be.
The hotter your palms are, the darker the mehendi colour comes out on the skin. The old wives tale goes “The darker the colour the more your husband loves you!”
DesiTentHire, specialises in making top quality, fresh, natural mehndi paste to guarantee the rich bridal colour it will give to all brides. Excessive washing and lotions may affect the colour of the mehndi.
· Once mehndi is applied on the skin, it may be left overnight or left on for at-least 4 hours to enhance the deepness in colour.
· The mehndi can be scraped of with a payment card or an unsharp butter knife.
· The mehndi on the skin should not be covered with a plastic bag or gloves as it will result in condensation from sweating and therefore loose the definition in design.
· Lemon Juice & sugar syrup can be applied with cotton wool on to the mehndi once it is dried. This will secure the mehndi onto the skin more and therefore, result in the darkness of the colour on the skin. Application may be repeated, if mehndi feels dry and hard.
· The colour on the skin will darken on the day after the mehndi has been applied. The darkness in colour will last for a few days and will fade away.
· The mehndi powder can be a khaki, green or dark brown colour depending on where it comes from. It usually develops into a chocolate brown colour when applied as a paste onto the skin. Fresh mehndi powder will produce a strong dark brown colour and will last longer. Stale mehndi will produce a light orange colour, which will not get darker over time.
· The use of black “henna” should be avoided as it contains a dangerous chemical called Para-phenylenediamine (PPD) found in hair dyes which causes skin irritations.
· Brides should have manicures, pedicures & waxing done before mehndi is applied on them as otherwise the mehndi will be waxed off with the hair!
· To beautify your mehndi for mehndi nights, wedding or receptions, body glitter and gems in different colours can be applied on the skin to match the outfits.

Wedding Light Lingo's
Lighting Lingo’s::
Pin spot A focused beam of light that shines directly onto an object, like a centerpiece or wedding cake, as a highlight effect.

Color wash There are a few different types of light fixtures that can create a “wash,” which is basically a blanket of colored light covering an entire area.
Gobos Circular stencils that are put over a light to project a design or pattern. Popular gobo designs are monograms, dates, or any other wedding motifs. The complexity of the design will affect the gobo’s cost — a simple stencil can be stamped out of steel, while a more intricate design must be laser etched out of stainless steel or a glass that can withstand high heat (costing much more than a stamped stencil).
Led Short for light-emitting diodes, LED lights are currently popular for weddings because they use much less electricity (and don’t get as hot) than regular, incandescent light bulbs. This means they can sometimes be wireless, so they’re even that much more discreet. LEDs are great for color changes and vibrant colors. They’re also common in strands and good for accent lighting.

Bride's To Do List
Ways to vary your jewellery at your wedding events:
- Headpieces: vary your headpieces between: jhoomer, Pakeezah jhoomer, matha-patti, tikka, nothing. E.g. If you are wearing a jhoomer on your wedding cermony, consider wear a matha-patti on your medhi.
- On a pre-wedding event consider wearing just earrings & a head piece, as you are the bride do go for quality to set you able all but as ur buying less ur budget can be used to opt for better quality items! E.g. just big earrings and a tikka OR earrings and matha patti (this is really nice, as only the bride wears a matha-patti but by wearing only with earrings gives the matha patti a modern twist and looks geat for a pre-wedding cermoy!)
- Size, Quality, Colour... of course.
Be open to suggestions. I know I said decide what you want, but be aware that good retails know about latest fashions. So take photos of your outfit, show them to the retailer and ask what they would suggest. We recommend showing photos as you can e-mail them to online retailers, such as us, but also it's a lot safer taking a photo out shopping that your actual outfit (one bride sadly damaged her outfit while out shopping, it's easily done!)

Wedding Decorations
When you say “I do,” what are you hoping your surroundings look like?

A lot of brides-to-be hope for a beach wedding, which can be great way of getting married. You could aim for an actual on-the-sand ceremony, or you could do something like this — have your wedding within the comfortable confines of a beachfront hotel. You won’t accidentally get some uncomfortably large man sunbathing in an uncomfortably small swimsuit(or, heaven forbid, in nothing at all!) in your wedding pictures, but you still get the sunshine and refreshing salty air of a beach wedding.
Above, the decorator used a classic arch and just covered it with flowers. For draping the seats along the aisle, the decorator used tulle and gathered it underneath pretty purple and white arrangements. Of course, one caveat to beach weddings would be the wind.

Of course, many brides also dream about a garden wedding. This gardens can have a cool dome that the decorator can rim with flowers. The decorator can also cover all the pillars, including the ones placed alongside the aisle, with flowy chiffon. Pink and white flower arrangements sit on top each aisle pillar and the couple’s initials — A and M — are laid out artfully with red, pink and white rose petals in the middle of the aisle.

The aisle in this wedding was draped with organza and gathered with red roses, white orchids and lemon leaf. There was no aisle runner, but the edges of the aisle were scattered with pink and red rose petals. The half trellis at the head of the aisle were decorated with branches, white phalenopsis orchids and red roses. Love the branches look!
